If you had this motherboard for five years (it even supports x3d cpu's, at least on paper), would you upgrade to 5800x/5700x/3d or switch to AM5? It works very stable and finances are limited. I'm thinking about it + adding more RAM.
>>
>>100203769
It will be cheaper since DDR4 is cheap as fuck and you don't have to purchase a new motherboard
Although I will warn you not to just purchase another RAM kit to go alongside your existing one, if you want to upgrade your RAM buy a higher capacity two stick kit, your performance will be better just using two higher capacity sticks
Also make sure they're either 3200/cl16 or 3600/CL18
Check vendor QVL for extra assurance
>>
>>100203803
Yes, I thought about a new RAM kit. Too bad about existing 2x8gb sticks, they are nice samsung ones working at 3000mhz without an issue, utilizing them too would be perfect.
Thanks.

Yes and it'll die a faster death when Jonathan Blow's Jai comes out. I heard that its to Odin what C++ is to C.
>>
i think rust is definitely not ideal for prototyping and gamedevs would be better off just using a sane subset of c++.
the only rust game on steam that ive found looks good (by any reasonable metric, including just popularity) is Tiny Glade, which was made by professionals who have worked in the industry for a long time. even embark studios who are very vocal proponents of rust don't actually use a game engine written in rust for their games.

nta but I think he's talking about the people who open issues on github asking to redo everything in rust. most people refuse to do so for obvious reasons

Why does it seem like there's a cult around this distro?

>people say it's "bsd-like", when the only BSD-ism it has is a repo with shell scripts to build binaries that can be installed with xbps
>git cabal decided to remove all crypto wallets from it's repo and source package repo
>opaque leadership and funding, small cabal of seemingly mentally unstable / [adjective] maintainers
>no wiki or forum, ensuring only those who use git and have a github account are able to help add to their official docs.
>intellectually impaired management of shlibs requires juggling within the textfile when you use xbps-src

It's a Pokemon ball.

I tried Void earlier this month.
Worked okay on my 32-bit machine.
Then I tried using it on a 64-bit machine.
And after a few days of the not having packages I wanted runaround, I put MX on my 64-bit machine.
And I'm pretty sure that MX builds 32 too, so that'll go on that machine when I get off of my ass.

>This problem only gets worse when multiple audio localozations are included
Not really a problem, audio streams are a couple GB at most, nothing compared to the 50GB+ of video.

Further, most films with alternate language audio have the audio at ~768kbps lossy dolby, with only the primary original audio at the full lossless 24 bit Dolby Atmos quality.

You can do the infinite energy loop but you have to catch the current wave first. Then you hook up a alternating current to it and as it goes back and forth it it generates power and you have energy. It's in the second book of Nikola Tesla. They stole his books but you should be able to find it on Yandex.

I would've posted in it on reddit instead. The kind strangers would've taken care of the rest.

I can’t believe there is no such product.

All I want is just a fucking screen to read my pirated pdfs (not stupid epubs) in the train.

A tablet is not ideal for that because:
1. the screen has a backlight and I want to avoid that, I stare into a backlit screen anyway the rest of the day and I don't want to stare into one when I read books too
2. is expensive
3. has many other features I don’t need

A physical book is not ideal due to storage issues and is also expensive

Don’t recommend me a cucked solution like kindle which is only compatible with amazon shit, I want to just drop my pdfs and read them, is this too much to ask for?
>>
Just buy an old kindle and hack it.
>>
>>100203062

>water used for cooling datacenters
Datacenters use water exactly once. They are a closed loop cooling system. The same water circulates for years and the oxide from the pipes is captured by filters.

If you want to have a serious discussion about water then first get rid of 100% of all soft drink companies. One soft drink company uses more water in one day than a datacenter uses in 100 years. Worse, some of the soft drink companies are producing their drinks in desert regions like Arizona and New Mexico where water is already scarce. California has a higher water allocation than them so they also drain all the ground water.

>tools is workflow
goddamnit the best you can aim for is working with pajeets in the testing dev team for life.

I live in belgium, our company takes care of half the public and most of private hospital infrastructure. In my team we take care of the logistic aspect of the product, so mainly developing for warehouse automation, orders processing, pharmacy cashbox, etc...

The webapps are java/tomcat and run as dockerized containers, for the automation and wharehouses we mainly use c and c++, starting new projects in go recently. We have a in house framework to develop the product which is shared among all the teams and in which i worked as developer before being moved into leading the logistics team. All the frontend of our java webapps is done thorugh another framework for the frontend which is integrated with the core framework and based off angular, designed using the IoC (inversion of control) design pattern. Basically lets devs write java code only and converts it in js/jquery/ajax calls.

The dev workstations are a debian stable xfce stock install, with eclipse as ide and mariadb as dmbs. Then we use anything from kvm/virtual box virtual machines to test tomcats and do other stuff, fuckton of different vpn softwares to connect with clients for support, ssh, texmaker for documentation, and so on.
The database is mysql, and the biggest client has like a 100M records span on 2-300 tables in its production environment.

Enough? No one gives a shit or would benefit from your hobbyst dotfiles, larper.
